Pakal Dul HEP & Pollution Control Dept. Kishtwar distribute Pine saplings & conduct awareness programs 04-Jun-2025

During the World Environment Week celebrations joint awareness activities are being organised by CVPPL-Pakal Dul HE Project in association with J&K Pollution Control Committee Kishtwar. In an inaugural event more than 200 plant saplings of local species of Pine & Deodar trees were distributed by Shri Vishal Anand, HoP - Pakal Dul HEP & Senior Officers amongst the local employees of Kishtwar for ensuring dedicated plantation & post plantation care. Shri Vishal Anand, while addressing the gathering of Senior Officers & Employees encouraged them to take a pledge to drastically reduce the use of Plastic items in our homes & offices to ensure the long-term health & safety of our only earth. The event was witnessed by Shri Manoj Kumar Verma, GM (HR); Shri Prabhat Kumar, GM (Civil); and Shri Siddharth Misra, GM (Mech.) who also distributed plant saplings and urged the employees to ensure maximum plantation survives in the long run and minimum plastic is used in all Official activities in future.
In an another event a painting competition on this year’s theme of “Combating the Plastic Pollution” was organised at Government Middle School Bagwan Mohalla Kishtwar where more than 70 children, including 40 girls, participated and pine tree saplings were planted by Dr. Mohan Lal Sunehi, Divisional Officer, J&K Pollution Control Committee Kishtwar and the Officers of CVPPL within the school premises. In an effort to promote Environment Conservation consciousness amongst the masses and young children of Kishtwar region various activities have been planned to be organised during the coming week.
